Julia Butters Reveals What Really Happened to that Cut Scene from Quentin Tarantino's 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'

In Quentin Tarantino's latest film, 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,' there was one scene that didn't make it into the final cut. The phone conversation between Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie) was left on the cutting room floor, much to the dismay of fans who had been eagerly awaiting its inclusion. But according to Julia Butters, the 10-year-old actress who plays Trudi Fraser in the film, it wasn't just a matter of Tarantino wanting to keep things tight and focused.

Speaking with Variety, Butters revealed that the scene was actually cut due to the timing constraints of the film's three-act structure. 'We have to wrap up February as soon as we possibly can,' she explained. 'So the idea is, after Spahn Ranch, we have to wrap up February as soon as we possibly can.' Butters also mentioned that Tarantino had wanted to keep the pace of the film moving quickly, and that including the phone conversation would have interrupted the flow of the story.

But what about those who are still holding out hope for a potential release of the cut scene? According to Butters, it's not entirely out of the question. 'It won't be Leonardo DiCaprio, but maybe Quentin Tarantino will decide to release the footage at some point,' she hinted. And in the meantime, fans can rest assured that Julia Butters had a blast working on the film alongside some of Hollywood's biggest stars.

When asked about her co-stars, Butters gushed about working with Leonardo DiCaprio, who played her character's father in the film. 'He's so handsome,' she said, laughing. And as for Luke Perry, who sadly passed away during production, Butters credited him with saving the day when she was struggling to remember her lines. 'It was just after Spahn Ranch, and I'm supposed to be listening to him, and in the corner of my eye, I can see this fuzzy panda-looking bandit,' she recalled.

As for any funny behind-the-scenes stories from the set, Butters revealed that there were some unexpected guests lurking around - raccoons! 'There were raccoons all around the set,' she said. And as for her own experience working with the A-list cast and crew, Butters was thrilled to be a part of it. 'I just knew as a handsome guy,' like when women say, 'Oh, Brad Pitt,'' she joked.

While we may never get to see that cut scene from 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,' fans can still enjoy Julia Butters' memorable performance alongside some of the most talented actors in the industry.
